Apple’s iCloud plans

Apple are rumoured to have just purchased the iCloud.com domain for a cool $4.5m.

Everyone knows the future is ‘in the cloud’ but what exactly are Apple planning? We also know they’ve built one of the biggest (if not, the biggest) data centres in the world so their plans must be quite spectacular…

So far speculation runs from storing all your music in the cloud so you can access your entire collection from anywhere to some kind of souped up DropBox functionality – same concept as the music one but relating to everything on your Mac (data,  photos, documents and even applications).

Are they going to ‘reinvent TV‘ as some have suggested. Imagine direct streaming of movies and TV shows directly to your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or even 3rd party products licensing AirPlay.

Watch the skies…
